In 1991, THINK developed the first prototype predecessor to today’s modern THINK City model. In 1999, Ford Motor Company became a major shareholder, taking an active role in helping THINK’s technical team develop its capabilities in areas such as safety design and platform testing, as well as expanding their automotive systems and process discipline. During Ford’s four-year involvement in the company, the THINK City was brought to production and THINK transitioned from a small Norwegian EV company to a major global EV brand.
With its Scandinavian origins and sustainability mindset, THINK is one of the most carbon efficient car companies in the world. THINK currently manufacturers the THINK City in Finland for sale throughout Europe and in Elkhart, Ind. for sale in the U.S.
